EXTON MultiBootCD 6-OS ::: Contents 230929

On the disc (ISO) there are the following six (6) Linux Systems:

1. Porteus v. 5.01
"Porteus is a complete linux operating system that is optimized to run from CD, USB flash drive, hard drive, or other bootable storage media. It's small (under 300Mb) and insanely fast which allows you to start up and get online while most other operating systems are left spitting dust."

2. PuppEX Jammy64 - Puppy Linux
This Puppy derivative is built from Puppy_Linux_vanillapup 22.04.39, which is build from Ubuntu packages and packages build from source. Puppy_Linux_vanillapup is the best Puppy Linux system I've ever tried so I decided to make it even better. My changes of the original system:
1. I've replaced kernel 5.15 with kernel 6.1.12-exton
2. Development tools (build-essential) are installed
3. Latest Firefox and Google Chrome are installed
4. Added the ntfs-3g package (so NTFS partitions are writable)
5. Added GParted
6. Added video codecs (libavcodec58) so that YouTube videos and Netflix movies can run in Firefox
7. All packages have been updated as of 230222.
The ISO size has therefore increased from 343 MB to 879 MB, but PuppEX runs nevertheless as fast as the original Puppy, which means that it runs very very fast!

3. Tiny Core 14.0
"The Core Project is a highly modular based system with community build extensions. It starts with a recent Linux kernel, vmlinuz, and our root filesystem and start-up scripts packaged with a basic set of kernel modules in core.gz. Core (17MB) is simply the kernel + core.gz - this is the foundation for user created desktops, servers, or appliances. TinyCore is Core + Xvesa.tcz + Xprogs.tcz + aterm.tcz + fltk-1.3.tcz + flwm.tcz + wbar.tcz TinyCore becomes simply an example of what the Core Project can produce, an 23MB FLTK/FLWM desktop".

4. GParted 1.5.0-6
"GParted Live is a business card-size live CD distribution with a single purpose - to provide tools for partitioning hard disks in an intuitive, graphical environment".

5. 4MLinux 43.1
"4MLinux is a small, independent, general-purpose Linux distribution with a strong focus on the following four "M" of computing:
- Maintenance (system rescue Live CD),
- Multimedia (full support for a huge number of image, audio and video formats),
- Miniserver (DNS, FTP, HTTP, MySQL, NFS, Proxy, SMTP, SSH, and Telnet),
- Mystery (meaning a collection of classic Linux games)".

6. SliTaz 5.0
"SliTaz is a free operating system, working completely in RAM and booting from removable media such as a cdrom or USB key. The system is quick and responsive, clean and robust. SliTaz is simple and intuitive, providing a lightweight, elegant desktop, detailed documentation and easy to use configuration tools".
