  • Tried to install ExTix 24.8 twice. Both time it failed to install after 25%... I installed Deepin 23 which the installer is exactly the same and had success. I find it funny this distro doesn't even really have any kind of support community that I can find.. Plus any reviews on it site is almost 10 yrs old.. I always say, if you have no support in place, then you can dress it up to look pretty all you want. A turd is still a turd.
  • extix-22.9-64bit-kde-anbox-4830mb-220922.iso (5.19 GB = 4.83 GiB = 5187 MB) does not fit onto a 4,7 GB (4.3772 GiB) DVD. Pitty, I'm very interested in Anbox...
  • Not sussessfull load to desktop on ryzen7 deepin 2023-09-03
  • Everything works, but you may have to read the instructions for each ExTiX release. Watch an enthusiastic YouTube video/review about ExTiX 22.12 with Deepin 20.8. The video is called "ExTix Linux Deepin – Amazing Linux Distro | Perfect Form & Function". It was released 221219.
No hace falta hacerse pajas mentales.
  • I have a question about Extix 20.1 with Deepin! On your Website I rode this: “Thus all your changes of the ExTiX Deepin system will be saved directly on the stick! See below though about persistence…” I followed all these steps from your guide and everything was working fine. I installed Extix directly on my Laptop, then I changed some programs and settings of Extix, then I used Refracta-Snapshot to build up an .iso And now my question: I tried to save some private data like documents, pictures etc. on the Stick with persistence. But after rebooting Extix from Stick, I could not find these data anymore. Is it ONLY possible to save System settings like you wrote in your Guide, or did I made a mistake anywhere? Maybe it is not possible to save own data? Please let me know what I can do! By the way. Your Extix Distro is very nice. I like more than original Deepin, because it is based on Ubuntu. So more easy for me!
  • Maybe it's just me, but ExTix does not seem to work for me. As in, getting it to boot. Installation to a hard drive partition was straightforward. But getting ExTix 18, or ExTix 19.3 to start seems well-nigh impossible. The boot process starts, but the gui never seems to open (even when I manually type in "startx"). I think the problem may be that I want to open a data partition (ext4) of my own at bootup, and the ExTix boot proves seems to choke on this line in my "fstab" file. Or on something else. I've tried, and am using, a lot of Debian/Ubuntu-based distributions : mint, q4dos, solyd, kubuntu. And I never have had any trouble getting them to start. (It's a non-efi desktop, with 2 1-tb hard drive. No RAID, nothing fancy. Just an old-fashioned SATA drive divided into a bunch of ext4 logical partitions.)

What do you mean by "the problem may be that I want to open a data partition (ext4) of my own at bootup, and the ExTix boot proves seems to choke on this line in my "fstab" file"? Hard to understand.
  • This one must be one of the last test Linux installs of just under 30. It is the only one that will not boot any wired or wireless network. None (not one!) of the other installations have booted so feeble-ish. and in my home country?? This was the one I wanted to work, really!! I've used an HP Elitebook 2170 on all installations.

You have probably not read my instructions how to configure the network. Especially if the ExTiX version you tried used Wicd as network manager.
  • Live cd works but problems installing.

You have probably not read my install instructions. Useful if you try to install ExTiX on a non-UEFI computer or in VirtualBox/VMware.
  • This is the best running LXQt distro I have found so far.

  • I had lots of bugs with Ubuntu 12.04 64bit but I liked the screenshots on distrowatch. Hence I gave it a go. Install was only possible via live - gnome session and my username was not taken. But hey all the rest is perfect. It looks good and I haven't found one single bug so far!
  • Very nice (clean) linux desktop. Runs very well from DVD (much better then many I have tried before). Harddisk instakllation is also easy. No distro if you want 20 programs to do the same thing. Comes standard with all media support (file types) to view YouTube etc. out of the box (fresh install)
