Emailwiz is an open-source shell script that automates the installation and configuration of a self-hosted email server on Debian and Ubuntu systems. It combines Postfix for sending and receiving email with Dovecot for mailbox access through standard email clients. SpamAssassin provides spam filtering, while OpenDKIM supports outgoing message authentication. Certbot generates TLS certificates to secure mail connections. The script also configures Fail2ban to protect services against repeated unauthorized login attempts. It produces DNS record instructions for SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and MX configuration. Email accounts use standard Unix system users rather than a dedicated SQL database. Emailwiz can also configure isolated mail servers for local networks or private VPN environments.

Features

  • Automated Postfix and Dovecot Installation
  • IMAP and SMTP Email Server Configuration
  • SpamAssassin Spam Filtering
  • OpenDKIM and Email Authentication Setup
  • Certbot TLS Certificates and Fail2ban Protection
  • DNS Record Generation and Unix User Management
