Dune (BoardGame) Files

M A C :
Double click of the dune.jar will work, then from there start teh server, note there is sometimes issue with output to text file and processes not shutting down
In that case force quit them
If the dune.jar file doesn't work wise it's off to the terminal for you! server script can be cut and paste form the command files, this does work

W I N D O W S :
Run client-> DuneClient.bat (or double click the dune.jar file)
Run server-> DuneServer.bat

You must hava java 6 or 7 installed; If you don't it will probably just flick a black screen at you and disappear; run check java.bat in the debug folder it 
needs to say somethign sensible

A windows machine might need a directx drivers updated

open GL driver needs to be gotten from the card maker

If a dialog pops up saying "Unable to create DirectX D3D context."
1 Most likely caused by bad or missing video drivers, go to contorl panel, open teh system item (win7 requires a click on advanced settings now), 
	click the hardware tab, click device manger button, you should see your exact video card nicely drawen under the Display adapters, 
	if it's there but has a yellow exclaimation mark, or there is nothing there and under "unknown" there is a video adapter with the yellow mark
	your drivers are bad. If you have an nVidia driver you can go to www.nvidia.com and guess you model (if you don't know exactly) and it should work ok, 
	or ask it to detect. ATI cards need the original disk.

2 Or Install the latest DirectX driver from above
3 Or Uninstall Java3D from control panel (java3D is bundled in this game)
4 Or Install the latest java3D 1.5.2 from here https://java3d.java.net/binary-builds.html (note that amd64 is ALL 64bit windows, and i586 is 32bit)
5 Or you could also try, open the Display Properties pane by right clicking on desktop screen and choosing Properties item in menu.
	In that pane, display the Settings tab, and click on the Advanced button. Then in the Troubleshoot tab of the pane that opened, 
	check the Hardware acceleration cursor is at its maximum on Full, confirm your choice and try to run dune again

N O T E S :

* To adjust sliders you can click them directly or select a sector on the board and 
	use mouse wheel or +/- keys (shift move the special slider instead, if it's enabled)

* Loading a save might cause issues like Atreides not ebing able to see cards, basically don't load games yet

* Fremen placement requires ten tokens placed, clicking the sliders will not stop at ten, and 
	they must be manually adjusted to ten total, however mouse wheel stops correctly

* Cards can sometimes be way out of place, zoom out to see them

* Turn 8 and 14 spice blow acts funny but doesn't break anything

* Note if you want to try using the java3d via jogl2 method set JUSEJOGL2 = true in the config.ini and run DuneClient opengl.bat or double clicking the dune.jar file

Karama ATREIDES_SEE_BATTLE_PLAN, ALLOW_EMPEROR_REVIVE, ALLOW_GUILD_STOP_SHIPMENT, ALLOW_HARKONEN_SWAP_CARDS not done
Advanced cards not in "Cone Of Silence", "Harvester", "Residual Poison", "Thumper" nor other extension rules (Kanly etc)
Fremen can't move into storm but can pop and ride worms
