  • PollenF: Pollen Analysis Software
PollenF: Pollen Analysis software was created by Fahim Altınordu. Two version are available for researcher, Turkish and English. The main routine in software is written in VB.net and uses Microsoft .Net 2 framework, which is included in Windows 7 and subsequent versions. The primary function of the software is to allow efficient pollen measurements from microphotographs. PollenF is capable of measuring all pollen features such as Polar axis, Equatorial diameter, Colpus length, Colpus width, Porus length, Porus width, Spine length, Spine width, Exine and Intine thickness, P/E and Pollen shape. The software supports .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .bmp, .gif, .tif and .tiff formats. To calibrate the software, a known distance on the image (e.g. a scale bar) is required. Users identify a line in the image of which the length is known before the tracing, and then use the scale option to set a scale. All calculations are then automatically reported in micrometers.
