- Various code cleanup operations:
  - Added some graceful exits in cases where the cancel button being clicked caused a silent crash.
  - De-duplicated and cleaned up the date variable
  - Set an osname variable at the beginning so platform.system is only called once.
  - Converted most concatenated strings to fstrings.
