Summary
Aria2 Next 3.0.9 makes HTTP downloads more reliable and faster on poor routes. A retried download no longer corrupts its file. A slow connection no longer holds back the end of a download. A broken IPv6 route no longer keeps a download at a crawl. Release assets cover the same seven platforms.
Fixed
- A download retried after a failure no longer treats the unwritten part of its preallocated file as received. With
--continue, the retry resumes from the ranges the earlier attempt actually wrote (rayburst#767). - A server that answers HTTP 403 to additional connections while others are transferring now limits the connection count instead of failing the download. The count is probed upward again later (rayburst#767).
- The end of a download no longer slows to a crawl behind one slow connection. Its remaining range is handed to idle connections, which take over the part the slow connection would deliver last (rayburst#762).
- When one address family is several times slower per connection than the other, existing connections move to the faster one. Previously only new connections switched, so a slow IPv6 route could hold every connection of a download. In testing, a 156 MB download that took 26 to 120 seconds over such a route finished in 6 to 9 seconds.
- A connection that stays far slower than the others for several seconds is replaced by a new one. Replacements back off when the new connection is no faster.
- Progress is printed again when the output is not a console, such as under Scoop. A download shorter than a second still gets a progress line (#70).
- A paused multi-file torrent resumes without asking for its file selection again (rayburst#754).
- Session files saved with a UTF-8 byte order mark, as Windows editors and PowerShell 5 write them, load correctly.
Added
docs/rpc-extensions.md(github.com) documents the RPC fields and methods added beyond aria2's interface (#76).
