  • Anki failed when: * Running the in-repository version in opensuse, due to out-of-date * Running the source version in opensuse, due to bug in python-sip * Running the ubuntu 10.04 LTS version, due to incompatible SQL databases. (Issue 2536). Recommended action was "use the latest version of Anki". Anki should: * Supply ubuntu users with a PPA * Stabilise their database format * Don't throw up python backtraces -- these are not useful to end users. * Sign or hash the database to not give incorrect messages that the database is "corrupt". * Mention when they break databse formats (last mention on Faq page was 0.4.x).
