android-airplay-server for Android is a free, open-source application that transforms Android phones, tablets, and TVs into AirPlay-compatible displays and speakers. Based on UxPlay, it receives screen mirroring, video, and audio streams from Apple devices over a local network. It supports H.264 and H.265 video decoding alongside AAC and ALAC audio formats. Users can stream videos through HLS, play music with album artwork, and control playback remotely. Android TV integration provides directional navigation, seeking controls, and Picture-in-Picture support. Configurable settings include resolution, frame rate, overscan, audio latency, and optional PIN authentication. A debugging overlay displays live playback statistics. USB tethering also enables compatible Apple devices to use Android hardware as a wired secondary display.
