AnchorCast v1.7.1 — Overtime Timer, Projection Visibility & Scripture Detection Improvements
⏱️ Negative Overtime + 👁️ Hide/Show Timer + 📖 Scripture Detection + 📝 History Reliability
This maintenance release makes speaker timing clearer after the allotted duration expires and improves Scripture detection and saved sermon-reference history. It also lets operators hide the timer from projection while it keeps running. It retains the Theme Editor and registration-access changes from v1.7.0.
⏱️ Timer: See How Far a Session Has Run Over
- Countdown continues past zero — the timer no longer stays at 00:00. It continues as -00:01, -00:02, -00:03…, showing the time spent beyond the allotted duration.
- Red blinking continues — the overtime value remains red and blinking. The existing “Thank you. Kindly conclude your session.” message stays on screen, and Flash Faster remains available.
- Consistent displays — the timer control window, operator live preview, projection screen and standalone AnchorCast Timer use the same time calculation and formatting.
- Reopen without losing overtime — closing and reopening a timer control or projection window during the same app session restores the running timer at its current value, including negative overtime. It does not restart the countdown. Count-up mode also preserves elapsed time.
- Operator control — press Stop to end the timer, or Start to begin a new timer using the selected duration. Ordinary Count Up mode remains a positive elapsed-time display.
- Preview fixes — the operator overlay no longer disappears at zero; changing preview size does not reset the displayed time; the conclusion message does not replace the editable session title. A failed timer-start request no longer produces a false running preview.
Example:
:::text
00:03 → 00:02 → 00:01 → 00:00 → -00:01 → -00:02 → … → -01:00
-01:00 means the speaker is one minute over time. Overtime is automatic for countdown mode; there is no extra switch to enable. Timers are not persisted across a complete application quit/restart.
👁️ Hide the Timer Without Stopping It
- Hide on Projection / Show on Projection — a dedicated button hides the timer number, label and overtime conclusion message without stopping or resetting the running timer.
- Keep monitoring privately — the Timer window's operator-only monitor and the quick timer controls' readout keep counting. A clear Hidden on projection — still running status avoids confusing Hide with Stop.
- Show the current time — show the timer again at its current countdown, positive count-up or negative overtime value. Red overtime blinking and the conclusion message return when shown; the timer is not restarted.
- Slides and other overlays are unaffected — hiding the timer does not clear Scripture, songs, videos, presentation slides or the clock/date display.
- Available across desktop timer controls — use the full Timer window, inline timer controls or timer modal. The standalone AnchorCast Timer supports the same button.
- Visibility follows the active timer — reopening projection or the main app's timer controls in the same app session retains the hidden state. Start begins a new, visible timer; Stop ends it. This does not add pause/resume or persistence across quitting the application.
📖 Scripture Detection Improvements
- Split references and verse continuations — improved recognition of references spread across finalized transcript lines, such as “Ephesians 3:20” followed by “And 21.”
- Spoken numbers, lists and ranges — improved handling of full number phrases, ordinal book names, chapter-only context, and references such as “Ephesians chapter one. Verse eighteen and nineteen.”
- Spoken corrections — bounded self-corrections such as “Romans eight seven, I mean eleven” are handled more reliably. Valid explicit reference numbers are not silently changed merely because a different quotation would match better.
- Selected Bible translation — repaired Bible-loading and availability checks so detection uses the selected installed translation. Any KJV fallback or missing verse text is identified in diagnostics.
- Continuous preaching — quotation matching has a bounded pending-search wait rather than being repeatedly postponed by uninterrupted speech. Local detection remains available when optional online detection fails.
- Legitimate repeated quotations preserved — a Scripture quoted again later can be detected and recorded again. Overlapping processing of the same occurrence is coalesced instead of suppressing the reference for the entire service.
📝 Sermon History & Recovery
- Clear panel does not erase detection history — the dismissible AI Detections list and current-transcript detection history are now separate. Clearing the panel preserves earlier references for saved History.
- Recovery includes detected references — the in-progress recovery data includes detection history as well as transcript text. A failed permanent save retains the recovery file.
- Existing saved sessions remain unchanged — this release does not automatically reconstruct previously saved sessions with incomplete detection lists.
🔎 Detection Diagnostics
The AI Detections → Debug log button exports processing decisions, thresholds, missing Bible-text information, selected/fallback translation and panel-versus-History counts. API settings and tokens are excluded, but transcript excerpts may be included; review the file before sharing it publicly.
