A free open source dictionary for Windows and linux, contains ar, en, hr dictionaries. Built on python, contains many good dictionaries (with >1,000,000 words) ... be patient when executing the program (it needs around 15 seconds).

Features

  • 1,406,046 words in arabic, english and hebrew languages
  • contains medical terms (en-ar) from UMD dictionary
  • contains wikipedia definitions
  • can be used on Linux: download A_Letter.tar.gz, extract it and double click on A_Letter.sh (you may need to make it executable first -> from the properties of the .sh file)
  • contains the "Arbitrary Search" -> search for word in a phrase or a sentence (but not the 1st word; because you search 1st one by default)
  • to enter an Arabic word -> "don't write the Harakat"
  • it needs about 15 seconds to load the words and get started, so be patient
