Linux is a clone of the operating system Unix, written from scratch by Linus Torvalds with assistance from a loosely-knit team of hackers across the Net. It aims towards POSIX and Single UNIX Specification compliance.

Although the Blackfin architecture has been in the mainline kernel since 2.6.22 (May 2007), there are various fixes and patches applied locally that are not upstream. Please use the kernel from here - and treat it like any other distribution kernel.
