OpenPiano turns your Windows computer into a playable piano. Use your computer keyboard, mouse or MIDI controller, choose a sound, and record an idea without leaving the app.
This virtual piano includes Default and Grand Piano sounds. Add compatible SF2/SF3 SoundFonts (instrument sound files), or download the optional Steinway D-274 Hi-Fi piano. Choose 61 or 88 keys and customize key mappings, note labels, colors, sustain and pitch.
Save performances as editable MIDI notes with recorded sustain-pedal events, or render WAV audio using the sound and volume selected at export. Playing and recording work locally without an account.
Use the Windows installer or run standalone. No extra sound download is required to begin; settings and custom sounds stay in your Windows user profile. Updates and optional downloads use the internet.
