#2 Add optional every-other-row highlighting

I got this over email a LONG time ago and said I'd look
into it, but haven't yet. Anyway, a user wanted to be
able to have an alternate highlighting color per news
item, sort of like you see on most larger tables. I
should be able to put that in as an option.
