zinf.pot is in CVS under the po directory. The file has a lot of strings including some very low level error strings that probably aren't interesting to the casual user. if any one feels like makine a language specific file, please get it from CVS. Currently I need a simple test file with just a few strings translated (maybe the browsermenu.cpp strings). Please do not translate the whole thing, as many strings may change for two reasons. 1. Branding : All strings that use some sort of compile time concatenation will be changed to "zinf", as I don't think this is relevant anymore and it plays havoc with the gettext macros. Let me know if anyone thinks this should not happen. 2. printf, cout, and boost::format : gettext works well with printf strings and does not work well with c++ lines like cout << "My language " << lang << "order is different" The boost::format library allows the programmer to format in an order independent way that is even better. cout << boost::format("My language %1% order is different") % lang which will work well with gettext. Unfortunately, I am having trouble with it under g++-2.95 so the changes will be going in when it seems that g++-3.2 is here for good or I find a copy that compiles under g++-2.95 Anybody out there just starting out with c++ and would like to get their feet wet with these tasks? -- Kristian G.
