At initial sync of an iOS device one (1) contact with only a forename will get merged into another contact with the same forename. Example: Richard will merge with Richard Blyton. All data of both contacts will be there and the name will be Richard Blyton. If I recreate Richard and add a surname it wil be fine but it will merge two others with the same name constellation when I reinstall then Apple device. Tested with iOS 9.2 and 9.2.1

Any merging of contacts by your device is a device issue. If you turn on WBXML level logging and see the 2 contact records getting streamed out to the device with different ServerIds then the backend has done it's job correctly. It can have no influence over the behaviour of the device.

Closing ticket. Device behaviour issue - not a z-push or backend issue.

Just an update: With Zimbra 64 and z-push 2.2.9 the behaviour is gone.
