Loaded the application (Win7), downloaded a limited set of maps around my location using the option in the Files menu. I then ran the wizard setup & put in my GPS coordinates that I obtained from 3 different sources (all the same). The icon is placed on the map in the wrong location. It's off by about 1/4 mile. Any ideas?

The GPS coordinates you got were skewed somehow (are you in a GPS shadow area with lots of tall buildings, etc.). Were you using DGPS corrected position, and what was the radius of confidence of your location (the oval covering the predicted error region)?
Whoever entered the map data for your area into OpenStreetMap screwed up. To check this, visit http://www.openstreetmap.org and enter your lat/lon position, and see if it comes up with the same skewed answer.
If #2 comes up correct, then I need to fix a bug in YAAC.
Please let me know what you find.

A couple of possibilities:
