I did a "locate" on a call sign once and now, every time that call beacons, I get big yellow crosshairs on his location and I can't seem to clear it. This has persisted over several YAAC updates. Any ideas?

This is not due to the locate. Locate uses big green crosshairs. The reason for the big yellow crosshairs is that station is transmitting MicE beacons with Special status (orange is used for Priority status, and red for Emergency status). Because Special status may not be applicable to what you are doing, you can disable the yellow crosshairs by going to File->Configure->Expert Mode, viewing the Preferences tab, and unchecking "Flash when a Special status station reports". There is presently no way to shut off Priority and Emergency crosshairs.
Unfortunately, there are some APRS users who abuse the Special and Priority status codes.

That would definitely explain it. I checked his beacon and sure enough, he is "Special".
