Been working with YAAC for a few days. I downloaded the full 32gb osm map. However for some reason I can't seem to get it to parse the full file properly. I'm monitoring it again after the 3rd or 4th attempt, but I don't know if it is going to work. Have you seen this issue?

Yes, unfortunately. I checked in some "improvements" in build 31, and found they weren't complete. Build 32 is in the works.
Another possibility is running out of memory in the Java heap, or running out of disk space. Reindexing the entire OSM planetary data set needs a ton of memory and disk space, and the default heap settings for the Java runtime may not be enough. When I import the map data, I explicitly set the heap limit to 1536m (1.5 gigabytes!) with the -Xmx option to the Java command.
In the meantime, I recommend pulling the map tiles from my website until I get build 32 released. I just imported the most recent OSM data (20140122) and should have it available for import in a few hours.
