Next Page = Left instead of Crtl+Left, so that you can flip to next page/slide with cursor keys, if you do a presentation. This way it is also possible to use cursor keys in tablet mode.

The menu bars should be configurable, resizeable, movable. So that there will be more space for the slide.

Thank you, Very nice tool!

I don't want to make next/prev page be just left/right by default, since I feel it's more logical to make the arrow keys scroll in the document. But I could consider adding a config option which would make things work that way.

In your view, when this option is on, should these bindings be enabled all the time? only in fullscreen mode? only when the view is zoomed out so that left/right couldn't possibly scroll? only when both conditions are satisfied at the same time?

Resizeable/moveable menu and toolbars: this is for GTK+ to implement, not xournal. However, there is already some rudimentary amount of space cleanup allowed for in the config file (it's not dynamic and requires you to edit the config file, so I understand it's not ideal). Namely, in your .xournal/config file (save preferences to create it if you don't have one yet):

    (1) The line interface_order=... specifies the vertical ordering of the interface in normal mode; the line interface_fullscreen=... does the same for fullscreen mode (note: menu shortcuts remain available even when the menu isn't displayed, or at least they should).

    (2) you can specify a list of interface items to hide (from the menus or from the toolbars) on the line shorten_menu_items=..., and set shorten_menus=true (the names are left for you to figure out though - they are the various names of GtkWidgets that appear on lines 32 to 340 of src/xo-interface.c). (By default "Shorten menus" hides three entries from the Options menu that most users are unlikely to want to change once they're set). You can't use this to hide things selectively in fullscreen mode however (but you can check/uncheck "Shorten menus" in the Options menu).

    Hope this helps,
    Denis

    +1

I use Xournal every single day (I'm a college prof.) and it sure would be nice to use my presentation remote with this program. Currently, though, the remote "slide advance" button maps to PgDn, so Xournal just moves down to the bottom of the current slide instead of advancing to the next one.

Is there any way I can dig through the Xournal config files and change this myself? I've already worked a bit on trying to re-map the remote button, but no joy so far.

Thanks very much for your hard work on Xournal! It's a great program!

Maybe it should be possible to show the presentation on a beamer, and the toolbar only on the notebook screen.

On the beamer, the toolbars shouldn't be visible.

I am actually missing the singel page mode in x++. I am using that to do my presentations and there is none anymore in x++. There is always a border in x++ and there seems to be no way to get to the top of the next page.

Even better would be a presentation mode where on another screen you only see the current page without any toolbars or somthing like that. Taht would be the best!
