apparently in 2016 some bugs were fixed. Especially fixing #181 in some linux distributions would be nice.
I think a new (minor) version should be released so that debian etc will update their packages.

Sorry I didn't respond earlier. I can't promise -- I'll try to do it at
some point because it seems that distribution packages just won't follow
the repository, but it's a very busy period for me etc. So: you might
as well also file a bug for the debian package maintainer to request for
them to package the latest git master.

Done at last. Version 0.4.8.2016. Strictly identical to the cvs/git repository, so if maintainers have already rebased on the repository within the last year or so, there is no need to update; if they are still with the 3-year-old 0.4.8 release then an update is highly recommended.
