[XOTS-users] xots and TAO 1.3.1

dear friends of TAO and xots,

i am working on an update for xots with the latest
TAO release (1.3.1). in particular, the policy
handling
is broken in TAO/xots, which may take a while to get
fixed.

in the meantime i am working on an XA module similar
to the OTS 1.3
Connector/CurrentConnection/ResourceManager.
Although the signatures of the interfaces will be
slightly different (reduced parameters), the Connector
and CurrentConnection follow idea of the approach in
OTS 1.3, which allows applications to explicitly
manage the association state of the XA resource.
currently, i do not see any good reason to introduce
the ResourceManager, as in xots the Synchronization
callbacks should do (and they do not imply additional
remote calling overhead, as we have colocation).

if anyone is interested in the new XA module, even if
an application might currently not work correctly at
runtime (due to above problems), please let me know.

in general, it would be interesting to know, if anyone
has plans to use XA integration with xots (besides
having plans to use xots at all ...)
