Clearly not what I would consider normal. Anyways I hardly run more than 8 
hours straight with xine before I fall asleep (well, they really make boring 
movies nowadays) :-)

Great idea. This would actually be a great feature for oxine (oxine.sf.net).
Basically you can already do your own subtiles  when you make your own 
(background) movie and add your own subtitle file to that. It wouldn't be 
scrolling but I think it's a nice start.
