XFE installed with apt on latest Raspbian 11 / Debian Bullseye.

It is launched right at startup of the desktop and should display the contents of an external hard drive, in one of the subfolders. The drive contains 1TB of data, around 2000 (sub)folders.

Since the latest apt update & upgrade of Raspbian 11, it takes very long for XFE, to show up - well over a minute. The drive is getting scanned in the meantime.
Before the upgrade, this only took two or three seconds.

I went back to an older version (Raspbian 10), to see if maybe the drive is broke, but the waiting time was gone, XFE shows up right after startup, displaying the contents of the drive.

I then installed a fresh Raspbian 11 and now it takes over a minute again.
I am mounting the drive in fstab, with the same parameters...no fsck check or similar.

Could this have to do with XFE or is this something else?

PS: This is not the case, when the drive is mounted read-only.
XFE shows up immediately, displaying drive contents.

What version of Xfe do you use? If it is 1.45, could you try with Xfe 1.44? Thanks.

I was using the version, that came with apt - 1.43.2
I now compiled and tested 1.43 and 1.45.

With 1.43, it was the same as with 1.43.2 - about 60 seconds.
1.45 is faster, it takes 20 seconds.
