No

when I switch to console (ctrl + alt + f1-f6) it looks like X but
garbelled, when I try tos switch back to X (ctrl + alt + f7) I still
have garbelled X and nothing is controllable.
but in console mode I can login and restart X (without visual
feedback) and everything is back to normal (except from not
beeing able to go to the console)

I'm not quite sure I understand what your saying, but first
    off....

xf4vnc enforces that you stay in X when someone is
connected, because when your switched away to a text VT,
then the graphics memory is longer valid, and you get
garbled output on the vncviewer. You can still change vt
with the chvt command though - which can cause this behaviour.

I've got a fix in the works for it, and should appear in the
new 4.4.0.0 release in a few weeks time.

You don't mention which version you are running though.
