I have just started using XCSoar on my Compaq 1550. I have to say I love the 1550 display it is very easy to see in the sunlight. This is also my plug to get the Cab compiled files for newer PPC MIPS versions rather than the 5.1.2 I am currently running. I do have MS Visual Studio .Net available so with some coaching I might be able to set up to compile these myself. After a few flights with XC soar now I have a few suggestions. It would be nice if tapping some of the Infobox's allowed changing some settings. For example it would be nice if tapping the MacCready Info box would toggle the MacCready Setting between Manual, Climb, Final, and Both. Perhaps tapping the distance Infobox would switch between Statute, Nautical, and Kilometers. I have also found I would like a way to manually switch between Cruise, Circling and Final Display modes. Perhaps tapping the Icon showing which mode you are in would toggle to the next mode for about 30 seconds. My little 1550 doesn't have any extra processing power, I don't know how much extra it takes to set up the screen taps, Perhaps it is to much, which would explain why this is not already being done.
