Novelty of discovery of oil to send TXHE flying!!! partnership: Texhoma Energy Ticker: TXHE current price: $0.08 Reference price: $O.27 You can see a brand new entry into the Red Hot energy segment. Texhoma's corporate model projected benefits with oil at $30 a barrel. What do you think the loss and gain account is going to display with oil at its last price ? We call them HUGE profits! But it's the report of this latest oil-field discovery that is really going to make this one take off!!! With a combination of staid, proven management, Extremely Lucrative producing sector, and INCREDIBLE News item, this stock is going to fly on Tuesday!!! Participators should take up TXHE as early as possible on Tuesday. This Novelty is going to send it off the charts! We all know that in the oil business it's the powerful report that make these stocks burst!!! |

Thanks Lucian and Daniel. I've got the event firing now both in the minimal example I sent to the list as well as the "real" code I was working on. It looks like calling SetEventObject is not necessary, but passing the id of the object to the Wx::CommandEvent constructor is necessary. We have a reporting system we use that has a Java applet client. While we can run it along side our wxPerl application, it would be *nice* to integrate it into our application. So.... Anyone have any ideas how to embed a Java applet into a Wx::Frame or Panel? Some strange marriage of Inline::Java and Wx::Panel? Or am I crazy? :) Thanks in advance. Mike. |

Hi all, Thanks for your feedback. Looks like there is a general acceptance that threading in Perl is NOT a good idea. POE is still the preferred workaround. I will look into using POE instead. Thanks. # from Foo JH # on Tuesday 03 October 2006 02:45 am: >Perl doc says that threading will duplicate >ALL variables in the main thread. Sounds quite bad to me. It will duplicate all variables from when the thread is created. That just means you have to create it early. >Does any1 else do threading on wxPerl? I've thought about it, but not tried it yet. Perl's 5.8 threads are still a little odd, but they seem to work fine in the few (non-wx) examples that I've tried. http://www.perlmonks.org/index.pl?node_id=288022 http://perl.com/pub/a/2002/09/04/threads.html There's an example on cpan using Wx http://search.cpan.org/search?module=Wx%3A%3AApp%3A%3AMastermind --Eric -- We who cut mere stones must always be envisioning cathedrals. --Quarry worker's creed --------------------------------------------------- http://scratchcomputing.com --------------------------------------------------- |
