No

Since Curse does not allow automatic downloads of addon files, it is no longer a reasonable source for packages. Therefore, it should be fully removed from the interface and from the online DB that is used to link packages to source sites. Where possible, alternate sources should be used.

Why not? Curse certainly works perfectly (only a little more manual work) in 1.9.

But, even so, starting 2009-04-29, the online DB will prefer to identify with alternate sources rather than Curse. It won't be removed from WUU though.

I agree, curse still works quite well with the workaround and even today I still continue to add addons from curse because it is still one of the most exhaustive addon host and most of my addons are updated from there.

This 'workaround' is equivalent of people having to get out of their car and walk alongside the car for some parts of the highway, because the highway owners want people to look at their ads longer. What Curse does is unacceptable and should not be tolerated or supported in any way.
