Having added the send to group, only one feature is left out: import numbers/groups from Oulook contacts, the tipical place where windows users keep them, being them on local PC or Exchange Server.
This will phase out commercial clients :)
Really good job, thanks.
I really didn't mean Import, I meant "read data from Outlook", so that I can get numbers live from the application and not having them Imported once.
well, I got it anyway :-)
working at it. hold on.
done. since these are my first steps with extended MAPI, I consider this feature "experimental".
please try it and report any issue.
It would be a great feature but I can't get it to work.
Win7-64/Outlook2003>exchange2003/WPHFR0.3.1(upgraded from a clean 0.3.0)
Went to configure > addressbook and selected Extended MAPI.
Went to Select and got a white empty window.
Am I doing it wrong?
btw, my outlook have only one profile.
wphfr only displays recipients that have a fax number (either business or home).
maybe this is the problem?
No, checked and I have lots of contacts with a fax number (business).
Could the program run in some debug mode that would produce a log I could try and parse or post here?
can you test this:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22313850/mapidebug/wphfgui.exe
- go to C:\Program Files\Winprint HylaFAX Reloaded
- rename wphfgui.exe to bak
- replace with the exe given above
when done, revert to the old exe - this is for debug only
thanks - L -
Thanks,
Tsted and upon printing to it (after the debug disclaimer and before the gui appears) I get:
"Unable to open address book sub container: 0x80040126."
darn. I expected that error but still cannot figure out where it comes from.
can you download the exe again from the same URL, and do another test?
added more diagnostic messages.
I have another case similar to yours; let's see if at least circumstances are the same.
thank you - Lorenzo -
Downloaded and it's the same message. Should I do anything when the gui opens?
btw, I do have sub contacts folders inside of the main contacts folder (in outlook).
Could this be the case?
Well, after writing above text I just deleted my sub contacts, synched to exchange, restarted outlook and retried. I got another message, much longer one.
First of all, please change the message box of the errors to some copyable text box (if possible). It will be much easier than type copying.
Second, there's a lot of text but the errors I see in it are:
GetHierarchyTable failed: 0x80040106
GetContentsTable failed: 0x80040102 (twice)
Later in the gui I still see nothing at the "select" list.
let's do it the easy way
make a print-screen and submit picture of the error
Can't submit a picture because I'm not ticket owner nor admin.
There's a link for it though:

thanks. useful. at least I've seen it's not a MAPI issue (see all those "XXX: read YYY entries", they mean something has been read after all).
re-checking all my code.
hey, sorry to bother but can you perform another test?
download the exe again from the same URL, then launch it.
then go to "%APPDATA%\Winprint HylaFAX Reloaded", you should find a file called wphfmapi.log, send it to me privately.

no problem, sent.
