Replacing Winpooch.sys for Winpooch 0.6.5 gives on Dutch Windows XP Home:

The new driver does not work - still returns driver invalid message - on Windows 2000 Pro, SP4. This started after recent Microsoft updates so is probably same issue as for XP.

Thanks for a great package, which has undone some spyware infestations for some of my colleagues. Hope the problem can be resolved quickly.

The winpooch.sys in the zip file works only that when starting Winpooch there is a message "Winpooch's driver was not present in kernel. It has been installed temporarily an will be removed when Winpooch closes. To prevent this' install Winpooch with automatic setup, or run "winpooch install".

For those who don't know what to do with the message "Winpooch's driver was not present in kernel. It has been installed temporarily an will be removed when Winpooch closes. To prevent this' install Winpooch with automatic setup, or run "winpooch install".

Please shutdown Winpooch (RightMouseButton on Winpooch systemtray).

Select Windows Startbutton, Run... and type:
cmd (followed by enter)

now type:
cd\program files\winpooch (enter)
winpooch install (enter)
exit (enter)

Restart winpooch from windows start menu.

After using the attached file, I've had a computer - that never before crashed because of Winpooch - get crashed...and again and again!!! I've had to re-download the old SYS file...

P.S.
I did NOT install that Windows update that some people here did (I'm settling for SP2).
