Sync of 2 distant PCs with diff/patch files
First use Winmerge on PC1 to catalog a tree of directory and export it in a file (put on the USB key), then load that file on PC2 and compare against the local corresponding tree, then put the files to change on the USB key together with a diff file so that the files would be put at the right place when back on PC1.

I'm sorry I haven't responded in any way. I've mostly been away from WinMerge development past weeks. Planning new development model and so on. I'll try to start looking at this in next days.
Is it possible for you to update the patch against latest 2.9.x release? Even 2.8.0 would be a lot better than quite outdated 2.6.x (code has been changing quite a lot after that.
