Hello i have two technisat remote controls (photo attached) and i want to control my windows xbmc box with them but none of them works.

Both of them works under linux but no luck with windows 7 , both 32 and 64 bit !

There are no any unknown devices in the system but when i try to open winlirc it always says "winlirc failed to initialize. Would you like to change the configuration and try again ?".

When i click plugin setup , the device id is empty.

Any thoughts ? thanks !

The plugins might only work for PCI cards, I am not sure. I'll ask crazycat as he wrote the plugins. Unfortunately don't own any Technisat hardware :)

Hey crazycat, yeah they look like USB ir receivers from the pic. Maybe they install as a HID device or something.

Yes they are working with usb ir sensor and the are listed as HID devices under windows device manager.

So you need install some driver for usb rc receiver. Some another HID device, work as keyboard. I think this shipped with SS HD2 PCI devices (Twinhan-Azurewave 1041, AD-SP400 OEM). Anyway this not supported direct by current WinLIRC plugins.

Btw windows XBMC not support WinLIRC, so can be used only with HID driver for your RC set.

I don't know if i have to install some custom drivers , my device is recognized as HID under windows device manager. So i will try the drivers you said , thanks !

Xbmc is not supported but i found this http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=180145 in your page.

Thanks for support. If nothing else is left , you can close my ticket, thanks for supporting i appreciate it.

If you get a generic IR receiver, like some of those listed on the winlirc webpage you should be able to use both of those remotes. HID remotes are possible to support with custom drivers, but it's more hassle than it's worth really.

I installed the SS HD2 drivers as you said and now my device is listed as Technisat Mantis BDA HID Device , but still no luck with the winlirc :/

HID devices install themselves as keyboards in windows. Some sort of low level driver is needed to either intercept the keyboard messages, or low level driver that stops them being sent entirely. It is possible, I had a few attempts in the past, but not something I will probably support in winlirc.

But you can use those controllers with a generic receiver, say an audio receiver or an IR Toy.

Which technisat devices winlirc supports? it has technisat.dll , which driver is compatible with it ? My products in the photo are not in the support list ?

I think they work with the PCI cards where the receiver plugs into the back of them. Not the USB ones, I guess they are totally separate and don't require the technisat drivers to be installed.

    see Technisat-readme.txt:

    Technisat WDM 1.0

This plugin is for the Technisat PC-DVB tuners with integrated IR RC support and NDIS(WDM)-drivers.
Now supported SkyStar USB HD (USB2.0), SkyStar 2 eXpress HD (PCI-E).
In config need select tuner device number (if installed many tuners).

    Supported Remotes

    RC5-encoded.
