WIKINDX looks like the perfect solution for a project I want to start - except that I am not a systems admin and don't have a machine I'm in control of where I can install PHP, Apache, etc. on.
So, is there a commercial service that has WIKINDX installed on it where I could, say, pay a monthly fee, get an account, and they would take care of keeping the software up to date, storing my database, etc? Basically, I want things to be as easy as the demo is, but I don't want a demo I want reality!

As far as I know no. However, the demo site (www.sirfragalot.com/wikindx3/) runs on a commercial ISP (only2dollars.com - it is only $US2/month) which provides the environment needed to get wikindx to work. You would need to create the database, install wikindx and edit config.php yourself but you wouldn't need to install MySQL, PHP, Apache or do any configuration for them. I doubt any commercial ISP would install wikindx for you or configure it as it's not -- yet ;) -- in the same league as apache etc.
Mark.
