I have just spent a long time trying to get this software
to work.

I can see that in the future it will be useful, but at the
moment it is awful. How can this be classified as "Stable"
when there are so many errors?

I would reclassify your software as Alpha/Beta, so that
people who want to use it are prepared for what they
are getting.

For instance... in the install documentation that comes
with the software...

"Point your browser to WEBO , eg. http://localhost/webo/
logon as webo-admin (no password)"

in the install page on your site...

"Signin as user webo-adm password:webo-adm"

and in both...

"Edit the webo-admin user ( Admin > Users list > Edit
user ) and SET A PASSWORD !!"

Yet you can't do this. The option isn't there. It is only
after a lot of digging around that I found on your "Short
term todo list"...

"Complete the Administration module. At the moment,
the easiest way to add user, groups etc... is to do some
SQLing directly on the database"

I understand the old adage "you get what you pay for",
but you have misrepresented the stability of this
software. I wouldn't have downloaded, installed and
wasted my time with it if I had known how buggy and
incomplete it was.

if you didn't notice, this project hasn't been updated since
2003-04-30, almost a year before you posted this.

This looks as if it can become a great PIM, lots of features
and can end up working great.

Hopefully I can inspire the admins to let me help out on the
    project and revive it...

    Just type index.php?O=admin

click config > then select >> config shortcuts in the drop
    menu
Voila you can add the admin menu.
