My hosting service is requiring moving from PHP 7.4 to 8.1 - my current v1.3.0 went blank screen.. Had to have service go back to 7.4. I downloaded WC to my local box running PHP 8.1. Only get anywhere if I find and comment out every line of code with "magic" in it. Did get up to "Check out your DB" - just quits. Suggestions? Thanks

So I had to do an update on my own which I was able to do - with one minor problem - all my times are/were 2 hours off. Oh, is it no longer maintained? I was not aware. Seems like the issue in this thread has already been solved by the maintainer, though. The only issue I still have is following PHP error when I want to edit existing event: "Deprecated: The each() function is deprecated. This message will be suppressed on further calls in"... I run 1.3.0 with PHP 7.2.10.

Hi there we have been using webcalendar since 2004 this weekend it has stopped working - seems the version we have uses magic_quotes_gpc this has been redacted from php so.. the calendar has stopped working I have downloaded the most up to date version - I am wndering what the best practice is for connecting it to the existing database and upgrading that

I found the mistake myself. The problem was in the /public_html/calendar/includes/edit_entry.php file I changed line 177 from for ( $i = 0; $i < count ( $groups ) ; $i++ ) { to for ( $i = 0; $i < count ( (array) $groups ) ; $i++ ) { And now it works. I hope this helps others with the same problem.

My Wecalendar stopped working a few days ago when a Warning was displayed at the top of the screen. I fixed the warning in the PHP file but my Webcalendar still doesn't work. The problem is that nothing happend when pressing the save button when either creating an entry or editing an entry. I can press it 20 times without anuthing happening. I am the only user allowed to edit an create entries, the rest have no authorization. How can I fix this? I have tried debugging some of the PHP files to see...

Agreed. My reminder emails stopped working a month or so ago and I've had no replies to my post requesting assistance. A week ago I was going to post a "so long and thanks for all the fish" comment, but decided to just bite my tongue. I really do love Webcalendar, but there really is no support. I understand it's free/opensource software and I'm not entitled for something I haven't paid for, but reporting issues might at least help developers maintain and improve the software. Support from the developer in this forum seems to have faded out some time ago. Then, on GitHub I find no supprt forum, just "Issues" - and see no presence of any developer there, either... Is this really cute software not being developed any more? If so, this would be very sad indeed! I was looking for an alternative when I had the PHP 7.2 issue, but could not find any self-hosted script that can compete with WebCalendar - not even pay-ware. Effective December my provider will stop support for PHP versions up to 7.1, so I changed to 7.2. Even with v1.3.0, I get error messages like Deprecated: assert(): Calling assert() with a string argument is deprecated in path/includes/access.php on line 354 (and 314) Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at path/includes/access.php:354 in path/includes/functions.php... Hi, I'm running 1.3.0 from the GIT repo and my reminder emails stopped working. The emails aren't sent even if I manually run the scheduled cronjob command for the reminder. I've tried enabling error reporting in the command but there are no errors produced. Oddly enough, email alerts when a new scheduled appointment is creating are working fine though. I'm to using PHP version 7.2.22, but I also have 7.3 and 5.6 available, but I think 7.2 is preferred. /usr/bin/php7.2 -d error_reporting=1 ./send_reminders.php...

Well, still have the problem. In the header is the html to set the characterencoding to iso-8859-1 In the browser (firefox) it is set to utf8 (unicode), this should be set to iso-8859-1 but it does not. Anyone an idea how to force Firefox to use iso-8859-1? I tried the htaccess with AddDefaultCharset ISO-8859-1 No success. Regards, Jan

Hi, I have almost all working for just one thing. Names with Umlauts show on screen a questionmark in a black box. The database is utf8_general_ci but the tables are latin1_german2_ci exactly like in 1.27. I have to do a new export from 1.27 and import in 1.3 anyway. Can anyone give me a hint what is the best thing to do to have the umlauts again? Regards, Jan

As my colleague @jawtheshark found out, SMTPDebug was set to 2 instead of 0 in WebCalMailer.class In the file includes/classes/WebCalMailer.class in line 43 I've changed $this->STMPDebug = 2; to $this->STMPDebug = 0; Solved. Marc

Hi everybody, I've setup a new installation of webcalendar 1.30. Had some difficulties setting up the mail functionality, but it's sending mails, now. The problem is, that when invoking edit_entry_handler (clicking on save event), the script will output the complete communication/handshake between webcalendar and the SMTP server. Please see attached screenshot. I've tested with all available "Email Mailer" settings: "sendmail", "PHP mail", and "SMTP", same result. Anyone knows the problem? How can...

I had the same problem with German umlauts after upgrading from webcalendar 1.2.3 to 1.2.9. I first tried with io!'s solution but then after saving an entry and editing it again all the html showed in the description so I reverted this. I added to config.php (at the end): ini_set('default_charset', 'iso-8859-1'); this did the trick for me.

Hello¡ i got a problem trying to make new installation of version 1.2.7 i had a pc with the version 1.2.0 with an old windows 2003 server, the server, has bad time configuration ( at least 2 hours less than our spain hour) i make fresh install on a windows 7 pc. i export the database from the 1.2.0 to new 1.2.7 installation and all goes fine, the only is giving me problems is that events has 5 hours less difference. to give more information, imagine in my old 1.2 installation my event is set to 9...

Hello I hope someone can help me. I have some repeating events in my calendar. e.g. each wednesday at 4 pm. It was created during winter time. Now we have summer time and in the webcalendar itself it is still displayed at 4pm which is fine. bug I also subscribed as URL to this calendar in my google calendar and there the same event is displayed at 5 pm after the time has forwarded for 1h. So I guess there is a bug in the ics export function. Is there any way to fix this?????

Hi Robert I recently upgraded an existing install of Webcalendar and I had the exact same issue. Sorry for the late reply, but hopefully this helps if you are still stuck or want to revisit the issue. I'm not sure what happened so I believe there is a bug in the upgrade or install but using the steps outlined below I was able to finally reset the admin password and then I could login. I first had to delete the exisisting admin account that I couldn't login with, then I recreated it with a password...

I have resolved the issue. Rather than using a LAN IP address, or the loopback (127.0.0.1) for the mail server in Webcalendar's system settings, I entered the FQDN (fully qualified domain name) that is in the TLS certificate used on my mail server (the SAN / subject altnernative name) and now it works fine. I swear I used to use 127.0.0.1 and/or 192.168.2 before, both without having any issues, so I'm not quite sure what changed to cause my problem but it's probably best practice to use the matching...

I upgraded from 1.2.7 to 1.3.0 and my email reminders no longer work. After applying the proposal written 2014-03-22 German Umlauts are stored and can be reopened in the brief description but the detailed description with German Umlauts get completely lost when reopeing this appointment.

Here is a solution that worked for me. Add the following line after the "mode: prod" line and before the "# end settings.php */ " line in the file .\includes\settings.php disable_referer_check: true This allows the modified v1.3 function "require_valid_referring_url ()" to skip the referrer check (currently line 6387 in includes\functions.php)

Installed v. 1.3.0, same problem. Added the "www" in the database, didn't work. Solution was to edit includes/functions.php, line 6399; added "!" in front of empty as in, "if ( !empty( $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'] ) ) {".

Also 4 more typos in these files - I corrected mine and my end day of untimed recurring events calculates correctly now. i.e. Fri-Sat-Sun event was showing up as Fri-Sat only with the end date being calculated as 5am Sun. It now correctly shows up for the 3 days with the end date being calculated as Monday 12am (essentially Sunday 11:59pm)- the true and correct cut-off for an untimed event. :) The 4 instances of getDatetime () here need to have the "t" in time capitalized as in getDateTime () nb...

It sounds like you're trying to use PHP7. MySQL has been removed from PHP7. It only uses either MySQLi or MariaDB. We're working on converting things over. However, it's going to take awhile as we're all volunteers with other things to do. Until we get it working, try going back to PHP5 on WAMP. I followed the steps in Appendix A on how to set it up with PHPmyAdmin and it was completed successfully. I use also PHP 7.0.18 with 1.2.7c files (found somewhere in this forum) You have to change all the calls to mysql for mysqli in the sources files, commnent all calls to magicquote. Install don't work for me, but, after creating database with the sql files, my calendar works fine.
