Hi

can you please tell me if it's possible to run
https://IPnumber:10000/virtual-server/bwgraph.cgi?

for previous months

nobody told me that Feb 29th was cancelled so i didn't grab the data 
yesterday :-)

how can i set-up a cron job to do a bandwidth report on the last day of 
every month

I get the error below when i try to activate the proftpd option for new virtual admin users.  Looked around everywhere and could not find anything about a User for proftp.

an error was found in the ProFTPd configuration template : Missing User directive

.. your system is not ready for use by Virtualmin.

Did you go in and modify the ACLs for whatever user/group you want to 
access virtualmin, as it tells you?  I always forget I have to do 
that when I install new modules until its not there.  By default when 
you install a package through apt, yum or rpm (rather in webmin's 
interface) it won't be activated for any users, at least in my experience.

If that is the complete error message, then I am not sure what is going w=
rong, sorry. Perhaps you could try manually creating a key at the shell p=
rompt, with a command like :

openssl req -newkey rsa:512 -x509 -nodes -days 1024

Does this happen when you use the SSL Encryption page in the Webmin
Configuration module to create a new SSL key?=20

posted the full error message above, or only the first part? There seems
to be some missing ..

As far as i can tell from inside webmin that is the full error message an=
d there does not seem to be any output to the webmin.log am looking in th=
e correct place?

Normally when a plugin like Virtualmin is installed, it shows up in Webmin automatically as a new icon - in this case it would be under the Servers category. However, I am not sure what installation method the FreeBSD port uses..

Instead, you way just want to download the module's .wbm file from www.webmin.com, and install it using the Webmin Configuration module.

[webmin-l] cron module

Hello,

I have a question regarding the cron module's run now option.  When you 
select run now, what exactly does it do?  Does it spawn the job as the 
user selected with only their primary group?  I only ask because we have 
a job set up that writes a file to a directory that has group write 
privs for the users...however, this group is set up as one of the user's 
secondary groups.  When you attempt to run the job via webmin's run now 
button, it fails to write the file (yet it works just fine from cron) 
giving a permission denied error.  Now, if I change the directory's 
group to the user's primary group it works as expected.  Am I missing a 
conguration option somewhere?  Can the "Run Now" button be tweaked in 
some fashion to accommodate this if it's not currently possible?  I had 
assumed that when webmin ran a job as another user it did the equivalent 
of 'su'.  Is this not the case?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Does this happen when you use the SSL Encryption page in the Webmin
Configuration module to create a new SSL key? If so, are you sure you
posted the full error message above, or only the first part? There seems
to be some missing ..

Maybe it's smart enough to notice that it's a sequence of keys alternating up and down back 
across a row.
Also, is your ldap setup to do a lookup of any 8 character combination of letters and numbers? 
It can do be done with a hash total lookup.

Thank you! That fixed it. Though shouldn't that cache file be
deleted/refreshed when the module config is saved? No big deal, thanks

Webmin might be caching the version in the /etc/webmin/apache/site file.
Try deleting it, and then re-loading the main page of the Apache module.

Later I uninstalled Apache 2 & PHP (via rpm at the command line), and 
installed apache 1.3.34 & PHP 4.4.2 from source (again at the command line).

Made a few changes in the Webmin Apache module config to reflect the new 
Apache path and all was well. Webmin Apache module and Virtualmin both 
work fine.

But the Apache module still displays the original Apache version 
(2.0.52) instead of 1.3.34. Even tried hard-setting the version in the 
module config, but it *still* displays 2.0.52

This is purely cosmetic, but it's driving me crazy not being able to fix 
it :)

Hi Dan,
Those settings on the Module Config page of the Sendmail module just tell=
 Webmin where it expects to find mail files - they don't actually change =
the delivery path used by Sendmail. To set that, you would need to create=
 an /etc/procmailrc file that sets the DEFAULT variable.=20

For example, the deliver all mail to the file Mailbox in users' home dire=
ctories, your /etc/procmailrc should contain :

DEFAULT=3D$HOME/Mailbox

Usermin and Webmin should then be configured with 'User mail file locatio=
n' set to 'File under home directory', and  'Mail file in home directory'=
 set the 'Mailbox'.

How about if you try to use the Webalizer and Logrotate modules in Webmin ..
do they work OK?
