Special Hint ###################################################################### 1. Adding New Languages to Webmin New translations of the existing core Webmin modules are always welcome. If you want to translate Webmin into a new language or update one of the existing translations, follow these steps : Get the latest development version of Webmin so that you can see the latest translations that have been done by other people. In the file lang_list.txt in the Webmin root directory, add a new line for your language like : lang=sw,titles=1,charset=iso-6666-6 Swahili The "lang" part defines the short code for the language, and should follow the ISO standard where possible. The "titles" part controls whether Webmin should use letter images for displaying page titles in the language, and should be set to 1 if your language uses european characters. The optional "charset" part sets the character set that is sent to the web browser when using the language, so that is can automatically select the right font to use. Switch to your new language in the Webmin Configuration module under the Language icon. In the directory lang under the Webmin root and in each of the lang subdirectories under the module directories, create a new file called sw (or whatever the short code for your language is) that is a translation of the en file in the same directory. In each of the module.info files under the module directories, add a new desc_sw= line that is a translation of the desc= line. In each of the module directories, create a new file called config.info.sw which is a translation of config.info (if it exists). In the help subdirectory under each of the module directories (where they exist), translate all of the something.html files into something.sw.html. A table of currently translated languages is available so that you can see how much has been done for each language and module so far. There is also a list of other translators that you might want to contact before doing your own translation work. You don't have to finish translating the entire of Webmin for your translation to be useful. Many people just do a few modules at a time, or skip the help pages initially. When your translation has made some progress, send a .tar.gz file of all the translated files to the Webmin Translation Team at tra...@we... so that they can include it in the main Webmin distribution. This looks like a bug in the import process. Hi all, did anyone ever tried this one here? If you batch-import something like this 172.22.0.5:master 172.22.0.6:master 172.22.0.7:master 172.22.0.8:master to the DNS-Server it should create zones for 254.50.22.172.in-addr.arpa. (etc) Instead it creates 254.50.22.172.in-addr.arpa.. (etc) ---------------------------^ (see the additional dot) which makes the zone not usable. There is one problem: many third party modules have code which looks like do "../web-lib,pl"; Which obviously won't work if web-lib.pl is in /usr/share/webmin and the module was installed into /usr/local/share/webmin. Any ideas? I can see how this problem could occur - when the time is set forward, Webmin will check the last-activity time for subsequent pages, and find that all sessions are now expired! Hi, When using webmin-1.020 if I use the /time page to change the system time but I have set a session inactivity timeout my session expires.=20 I realise this is "what it does" but I was wondering if anyone had any tricks to get around this as it is confusing behaviour to the user.=20 I'm prepared to accept that if someone manually sets the time on the box then the behaviour is OK but not in the circumstanes where I'm using the webmin CGI script. Relocation can be a very hard thing to deal with at times. As well as waiting on your equipment to show up. After some of 2 years being WTCO I need to orphan this position starting
01.08.2005. This gives me and you, Jamie, enough time to seek out for
someone to replace me and to completely take over my tasks.
Reason is (as always) the time which I do not have anymore because I
need to focus more on my $$$-jobs in order to stay in shape. This is
not because my employer does not support OSS anymore, but certain
changes in the internal infrastructure of our facility will keeping me
in learning new things and evenings I am just dead because of this.
For the adventurous volunteer, here are my tasks:
There is no reason to take over all tasks, but there is no limitation to
not take all ;-)

are done.

c). He gives out additional technical guidelines which
translations have to follow if needed and is the main person
to ask help on translating things for.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
d) He is leading internal discussions on if things are good or
bad and decides on a democratic basis where and if possible.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
e) The closer a release of Webmin/Usermin is coming he decides
on things like "Feature-Freeze" for translations.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
f) He takes care that the translators always get the latest
sources to translate so that they will be available in the
next release.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In the end I will have time enough to support Webmin with my mirror
(http://webmin.mamemu.de/) and to maintain the Webmin-Archive
(http://webmin.mamemu.de/wtco-shrine.html). In addition I will keep up
sending my monthly newsletter and the "On the fly"-Stuff, but it will
do no harm if the new WTCO (or someone else) would do this.
I will stay in the Webmin Translation Team and send in translations from
time to time.
It was really a great pleasure to work with you all.

Hi Webmin developers and translators, Webmin 1.210 will be coming out soon, so I have created a 1.209 development pre-release for interested people to test before the official 1.210 version comes out. Translators should also take a look at this version to find any new strings that need conversion. You can get the 1.209 version from : http://www.webmin.com/devel/tarballs/webmin-1.209.tar.gz or http://www.webmin.com/devel/rpm/webmin-1.209-1.noarch.rpm The biggest new features in this version are the addition of new modules for Solaris RBAC Solaris Zones and Usermin clustering, plus improvments in the way the operating system is detected. Plus the usual bunch of bug fixes and minor changes .. Nope,
I did some more testing and that process does not spawn any other processes.
I'm lost. Soooo many hours, so llittle accomplishment.
I'll keep looking, if you think of anything else please let me know.

You must be seeing the Webmin process that then starts the bldora9ddl
process. Try searching for processes whose parent PID is the returned
pid.
