This is one of those things I've been told over and over but don't know why. Still, I use tabs and it works flawlessly so stick with it. The username jsmith will find all mail directed to any of those addresses in his box. There is no practical limit you will meet on the number of addresses a given individual can receive (I have 32 aliases for me in my virtusertable). He can then separate, filter, or whatever based on address.
