ok, I need to revive this thread: as your method didn't work out, and I need to evacuate a server which resides in a semi-corrupt VM I think about cloning it the direct way, setting up an identical machine and do an rsync (and a mysql transfer). Jamie, what things do I need to clone in your opinion to get an identical server?
