I have a problem that seems related. It may or may not be a procedural issue on my part, but, when I attempt to edit "Field Permissions" that are already defined there are no options that I can see for me to change. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? For instance, I have a database user that has "select" permissions on a particular field. If I wish to change this I cannot do this in the "Field Permissions" under the "Global Options". A workaround for me was to actually go to the "MySQL" database and modify the "privledges" manually. -Andrew Kornak ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jamie Cameron" <jca...@we...> To: <web...@li...> Sent: Sunday, February 23, 2003 3:49 PM Subject: Re: Webmin User and MySql Access > On the access control form, did you set the 'Login to MySQL as' field > to the second option, so that the Webmin user connects as the > less-privileged MySQL user? > > - Jamie > > Robert wrote: > > Hello, > > > > I would appreciate some assistance with the following Webmin User / > > MySQL access problem. > > > > My simple goal is to create a Webmin User who has access to update a few > > fields in one MySQL table. > > > > I have given this user "User MySQL" access and set the module access > > control properties accordingly. > > > > Further, in the MySQL Database Server panel I have set User, Database, > > Host, Table and Field permissions (using the same user name and password > > that were set when creating the User). > > > > I have tried a million variations between module access control > > properties and the MySQL database permission choices, and am almost > > always left with the same result: > > > > The user has access to ALL the tables in the database, they can add or > > drop tables, edit records from any table, delete records, etc. > > > > I cannot find a way to restrict access to simply editing a few > > specifically defined fields in one table. > > > > Thanks in advance for your help. > > > > Robert D.
