Hi! I am having some problems with the webmin user administration. We have a private user group concept (groupname=username as primary group), as we had to set permissions of homes group-readable because of netatalk. So, additional group functionality has to be done by setting secondary groups. E.g., a user "lars" should be member of group "lars" (primary)as well as of "users" and "student" (while he would be in "lars" as primary and "users" and "admin" if he was an administrator). I didn't find a way to make webmin create new groups when creating new users AND using default secondary groups. Is this possible without external scripts? One problem is that I see 400 groups in the group selection (which I could use instead of predefining secondary groups), as all private groups are shown here.... One smaller question, webmin 0.97 doesn't set initial samba passwords with samba 3.0 pre here. Should this work? Thank You, CU, Lars. -- This is my first mail tho this list. I am the linux/unix-admin at our students' computer lab at the university of technology, Darmstadt, dept. of architecture. We have build up an university computer lab with about 100 clients, for cad, graphics, large format printing, prepress etc... everything one might need in an architectural environment ;-) The special thing that all this is done and maintained by students - as I said, no "experts". We have abot 400 users here, using webmin since 2000. -- GMX - Die Kommunikationsplattform im Internet. http://www.gmx.net |
