Hi ! I'm using webmin over SSL. Using IE5.0, it works fine. But I think = Netscape 6.2 (Win32) & Mozilla have a serious lack in SSL support : they = do not use the OpenSSL library (maybe because Netscape thinks it owns = the SSL standard ?) and very few https site actually work with these = browsers. Here is the problems I encountered with browsers & SSL : 1) There was a certificate for webmin shipped with my distribution = (Mandrake 8.1) and when using this one, webmin starts, IE works fine and = Netscape does not (it does not give me any error but doesn't show = webmin). I've also tried Mozilla and it seemed to work fine but I can't = remember if I was able to access the file manager. 2) I generated my own certificate signed by my own CA using a DSA = private key : webmin doen't start (Net::SSLeay problem ?) 3) I generated my own certificate signed by my own CA using a RSA = private key : webmin starts, IE works fine and Netscape gives me an = "unknown SSL error (-12204)". Using Mozilla, I have the same problem = with the JRE. Greetings: I have Webmin 0.93 running successfully on a Redhat 7.1 system with = Apache,=20 Samba, and Postfix. I normally access Webmin through a Win 98 box running IE 5.5 or Netscape = 4.08. I recently downloaded Mozilla 0.99 and proceeded to access Webmin. = Webmin=20 worked fine until I tried to access the file manager (java applet). All = I=20 got was a Java Icon which directed me to download JRE (Java Runtime=20 Environment) which I already have. I downloaded the JRE and I still could not get Mozilla to use the JRE. = I=20 tried to use Opera 6.0 and same result. I also tried to use Netscape = 6.1=20 and no go. All other functions of Webmin are fine with the lone = exception=20 being the file manager applet under Mozilla .99, Opera 6.0, and Netscape = 6.1. I find this problem mystifying. Why would Netscape 4.08 and IE 5.5 work = and not the rest? I have the JRE on my system, in fact I have 2 = versions. I'm interested to hear what other Webmin users experience with various=20 browsers is. Thank you in advance. Michael Chinn - Forwarded by the Webmin mailing list at = web...@li...
