I believe the Apache docs have what you're looking for: http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/vhosts/mass.html of for 1.3.x http://httpd.apache.org/docs/vhosts/mass.html (It's pretty much the same for both versions, I think.) Basically, it allows you to setup Apache to answer requests for pretty much any domain that comes at it, assuming a directory exists under that name in its configured virtual host root. It just makes mass virtual hosting easier by allowing you to forget about the Apache part of Virtual setup--you then only need to add a domain name to your name server, a directory (with appropriate permissions and dir structure), and handle mail or whatever else you need to do.
