Hi Steve, Thanks for getting back to me. I am sorted now. It was the permissions on the files that were wrong. Not sure how c-Panel handles permissions when extracting zip files. The files once extracted had various permissions set. Was not sure if this was intentional. All files are now CHMOD to 644 and folders 755, which seemed appropriate. Is this the correct permissions? All working anyway, just need to learn how to drive the tool now :-) Cheers Mike _____ From: Steve [mailto:st...@se...] Sent: 01 April 2007 16:56 To: mi...@mi...; 'For the general discussion of webERP project' Subject: RE: [webERP-users] Install / Set-up problems - page not found Make sure you allow cookies. You can do it just for that site if you are concerned about other places. Usually it's good to create a sub-directory under the main public_html called, say, weberp then to access in a browser you use <http://www.sitename.com/weberp> http://www.sitename.com/weberp. DB user must have full access. That one db user is used by the system to access the underlying db while the system handles various users with passwords in order to access the system and they're all in the table www_users. After creating the db and executing the .sql lines that create the tables and populate them, take a look to make sure the tables were executed and make sure they are created as InnoDB. InnoDB must be enabled or it will likely create MyISAM tables. Without InnoDB tables foreign keys are not enforced and either is transaction processing. In config.php the host, db userid and password and the company/db name need to be set properly. The company name which must be a folder in the weberp directory under companies must be the same as the db name as you seem to be saying you did. You can find out the host settings by executing phpinfo.php included with webERP. Some of the documentation says what is important but it's all usually the default anyway. Register Globals off for instance. Check that MySQL and PHP are new enough versions. Some hosts never update until something needs to have a newer version. Not a proper way to do it imo but that's what several do. Steve _____ From: web...@li... [mailto:web...@li...] On Behalf Of Mike Whittall Sent: Sunday, April 01, 2007 10:56 AM To: web...@li... Subject: [webERP-users] Install / Set-up problems - page not found Hi all, Just started setting this up today. Firstly can I just say cool software! Thanks! I can login, but when I try to go to some of the pages in the main screen, I get the internal server error page. Here are my installation steps. * Upload Zipped distribution file webERP_3.05.zip with c-Panel File manager to the doc root directory. e.g. public_html click file and extract contents. * Create DB, user, assign permissions using c-Panel MySQL Databases Manager Screen. * Go into php-MyAdmin. * Open webERP\sql\mysql folder then copy the contents of the demo sql file and paste into an SQL execution screen. Note to remove Create DB statement. * Edit CONFIG.PHP follow instructions in comments. * Go to /includes/sessions.php and make 777. * Go to companies folder and rename weberp to DB name e.g. mike_weberp. * Change config.php default company to dbname e.g. mike_weberp * Should now see the login page. * First login is mike_weberp/demo/weberp Followed instructions and checked wiki pages for suggestions. Tried most things. I am using a hosting company, very little I can do to change server vars. Get to the main home page ok, but then say click on Logout or on Deonstration User to change password for example I get the internal server error page listed below. Also noticed the directories are coming up in my error log as writeable: should this be the case? Any help, most appreciated.
