It's a small int so it looks like the maximum is 32767 periods http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/numeric-types.html Check the configuration in Conifguration Settings -> Prohibit GL Journals to Periods Prior To: should be set to a period before the last created period you could update this with: UPDATE config SET configvalue='2010-07-31' WHERE configname='ProhibitPostingsBefore' Have you checked your mysql install? Can you still use phpMyAdmin to read and update tables? Strange that it should work and then not?
