I have just prototyped up an add-on board for the new style WP which provides treble and bass controls.
It's just a basic Baxandall circuit, but it's controlled by 4 SPI digipots.
It makes the WP sound even nicer :)
I want to add an SPI volume control to it, but I only had 4 channel digipots, but they do a 6 channel in the same pinout, so adding proper SPI controlled volume will be simple enough.
I might add an op-amp as a pre-amp to the audio input as well on this board - make it a complete audio enhancement add-on board for those that want that extra bit of audio quality from it.
I could incorporate this all into the main WP board, but it would drive the cost up, and not everyone would need / want it, so an optional add-on board for this functionality I think is best.
