Multiple WavePro shields

I have successfully got 3 WavePro shields all running at the same time off one Arduino.

A little modification to two of them to re-map the SS signals, and a tweak to the library (available in SVN), and I have 3 WavePro devices in use.

I have one with a continuous loop of a trickling stream, one with a continuous loop of birdsong, and the third randomly plays a cockerel crowing occasionally.

It's really quite relaxing. Just like sitting by a babbling brook in the middle of the English countryside on a warm summers afternoon. Bliss.

That's great news - at least for my project ;^)

I am having a big re-design of the PCB layout at the moment - making much more use of the back of the board. All the power regulation is now underneath, along with a big bank of solder jumpers to allow you to easily select which pin to use as the SS pin for the SPI.

I am (I think) going to sell the finished product with stackable headers, so you can tower these bad boys up :)

Having them stackable will be great. One thing I have to give to the RAS with its micro-SD card slot is that it gave them enough space to add an Arduino Mega style spi (icsp) header. Something to consider in the redesign? Actually, I couldn't find the standard sized SD card in shops here in Taiwan anymore. It's all micro-SD in standard sized adapters. The standard size does feel sturdier to me though.

Oh, and breaking out the dsPic's pin 22 would also be very useful if you plan on making the loop notification a feature, though I'm sure you've already taken that into account ;^)

It's the other way around here - the MicroSD ones cost more than the proper sized ones. I only have 1 micro one anyway.

Yes, switching to a micro SD slot would save some space, but like you I much prefer the full sized ones - much more sturdy. Also, most computers and laptops have a full sized SD slot on them these days.

I am experimenting with solder links instead of jumpers for selecting the SS and the notifications pins. Takes up considerably less room (especially when you want to have around 15 of them per function), and is far more discrete.
