Hi I've looked at Crystal Space and have some minor demos running. There is a lot of stuff that is excellent in CS - stuff that we ourselves cannot write. So I am going to use some days to rewrite WAR to use it. This is major rewrite of the excisting code, and I am maybe just goin to start from scratch. Expect 0.0.2 of War by the weekend or so. Of things that already are included in CS: - easy networking - import of 3D Studio files INCLUDING keyframe animations - terrain engine - particle engine - Windows, DOS, Linux (and others) support - backend support of OpenGL, DirectX, SVGAlib and others and lots of related 3D stuff (cameras, lights, collision detection..........) The one big hurdle by using CS is lack of documentation. Only the API is documented, and 10-15 demo apps. So lots of reading and understanding new code. /Thomas |
