This is a side effect of Solr's fragsize setting, which controls the length of snippets: http://wiki.apache.org/solr/HighlightingParameters#hl.fragsize You can increase that value to reduce the odds of truncated titles, though there may be a performance implication. It has been discussed recently that it might also make sense to change the template so that highlighted titles are shown as a snippet below actual titles instead of truncating the title itself. Perhaps we could detect truncated titles and use the highlighted snippet in place of the main title most of the time, but use the secondary highlighted line only when necessary.
