Hello, I have a normal Vufind installation up and running and everything is running just fine. Now I would like to add a second Solr core but I would like to feed it from a couple of custom scripts and to save the additional step would like not to pass the data through Solrmarc. First question: is this possible/advisable? Or does Solrmarc more than just indexing like e.g. adding something to the MySQL database or whatever? Then, to take advantage of some recently added Solr features, I would like to use Solr 4.x for this. Second question: Is this possible? With Vufind 1.x? And a third question: In case it is only possible with Vufind 2.x and also to make a future transition easier: can both Vufind versions run on the same server? To give a little background, the second Solr is mainly just the storage backend for a web service used as cataloging aid but it would be nice to also be able to search it via Vufind. Of course I will supply the usual fields, Vufind expects but would like to add a couple of goodies. -Michael |
